Torrevieja Prepares for International Day Against Gender Violence
The city of Torrevieja is gearing up to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, 2023. With a strong commitment to addressing this critical social issue, the local City Council, through the Department of Equality and Women, in collaboration with the Gender Equality and Anti-Violence Committee of the Torrevieja Health Department, has initiated a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and providing support to survivors, particularly focusing on elder women.
Anonymous Storytelling Initiative
From November 22 to November 24, a mailbox will be placed at the Municipal Leisure Center (Centro Municipal de Ocio – CMO) to encourage residents to share their experiences related to gender violence. This initiative aims to shed light on the often-overlooked struggles of older women who have faced such hardships.

– Anyone who has experienced or witnessed violence against women in their lifetime is invited to submit their stories anonymously.
