The health authorities of the Valencian Community have announced a major enhancement in urgent medical care in Torrevieja. Starting the first week of August 2025, the coastal city will have a second Punto de Atención Continuada (PAC), or Continuous Care Point, adding notable capacity to serve residents and visitors alike during non-regular healthcare hours.
Why a Second PAC is Needed
Until now,Torrevieja’s urgent care needs have been served by a single PAC located at the La Loma health center. With five health centers in the area-La Loma, Acequión, La Mata, Patricio Pérez, and San Luis-the population growth in recent years has put strain on the medical services. The existing PAC at La Loma currently attends an average of 230 patients daily, with peak times reaching up to 340 patients, sometimes overwhelming resources and increasing wait times.
